Established in 1963, Wolong National Nature Reserve is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest and most significant nature reserves in China.

At the Wolong Panda Center, you can get up close to the adorable giant pandas through the giant panda volunteer program.

Activities in this program include cleaning panda enclosures, weighing and cleaning bamboo, making panda cakes, and feeding the pandas. You will also have time to explore around the panda center and watch a documentary about pandas.

A limited number of tourists are allowed to take care of the pandas each day. Contact us to check availability and see what you will experience in our exclusive panda tour.

Age Limit: 10 to 70 years. Your guide can assist in taking care of your child if they cannot participate in the program.

Red Panda Volunteer Program

Unlike other panda bases, Wolong National Nature Reserve offers a red panda care program.

According to many reviews, this program is even more exciting than the giant panda program, as red pandas are more active, and you can have unrestricted contact with them.

In this program, you can feed a group of red pandas without barriers and even touch and take photos with them.

Age Limit: 8 to 70 years.

Cub Keeper Program

If you dream of cuddling a panda cub, your dream will come true in the panda cub care program at the Wolong Panda Center.

You will become a cub keeper, taking care of panda cubs by feeding them with milk and bamboo and observing their behavior from a staff-only control room.

Join the program and become a panda cub keeper for a day.

Wolong Panda Center is approximately 120 km (75 miles) from Chengdu by road. It takes about 3 hours to reach it by public bus, which departs from Chadianzi Bus Station in Chengdu and goes to Wolong Town.

However, it’s more convenient to visit by private car, saving travel time and allowing more time to spend with the pandas.
